Michael Young is a Partner specialising in international arbitration.

He is Co-head of the Allen & Overy’s Global Arbitration Practice and a Vice-President of the ICC Court of Arbitration.

He has advised and represented clients in numerous arbitrations, both ad hoc and under each of the major institutional rules. The disputes on which Michael has advised have arisen worldwide, including in North America, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Asia.

He acts regularly as advocate before arbitral tribunals and experts, and has been on the Executive Committee of the Federation for International Arbitration Advocacy since its inception.

Michael sits frequently as an arbitrator himself. He has also written and spoken widely on arbitration, as well as teaching at the Faculty of Law at Sciences Po in Paris and in the Faculty of the University of London LL.M arbitration programme in Paris.

A UK national, Michael originally qualified as an English barrister. He has been an English solicitor since 1996, and based in Paris since 2006.
