Michael W. Sculnick

Mr. Sculnick is a Managing Director with PricewaterhouseCoopers' HR Transactions Services group in Chicago, Illinois. Currently, he leads a team of specialists who advise clients on the HR and benefits issues involved in mergers, acquisitions, spinoffs, and other similar transactions. He also serves as a national resource for issues relating to multiemployer pension plans and other deal issues. Previously, Mike served as Director of the legal and regulatory group in the Chicago office, consulting in human resources and employee benefits matters.

Before joining Coopers & Lybrand in January 1997, Mr. Sculnick was a partner in the Chicago-based law firm of Vedder, Price, Kaufman & Kammholz, concentrating in labor and employment law and employee benefits.

During his career of over 30 years, Mr. Sculnick has advised both publicly-traded and privately-held companies, as well as private equity firms and units of local government. While in law practice, he handled pension as well as labor and employment matters in the workplace.

Mr. Sculnick received his Bachelor of Arts degree (Magna Cum Laude) from Oberlin College, and his Juris Doctor degree (Cum Laude) from Cornell Law School.  He also holds an LL.M. degree in Taxation from the New York University School of Law. 

Mr. Sculnick is the author of numerous articles on labor and employment law and employee benefits matters, and he has spoken on a wide variety of subjects involving multiemployer pension plans and employee benefits administration and compliance.
