Michael Schlesinger, BA, Antioch College, JD, University of Toledo College of Law, Llm (Taxation), New York University School of Law, is a practicing lawyer and a member of the New York bar.and is a former Adjunct Professor of Law, Pace University Law School, White Plains, N.Y., and Adjunct Professor of Accounting, Lubin School of Business, Pace University, White Plains, N.Y. He is also the author of “The S Corporation Desk Book” (Prentice-Hall) (1988), “Small Business Tax Return Guide” (Prentice Hall) (1991) and (1992), “Essential Facts: Limited Liability Companies” (Warren, Gorham & Lamont) (1995), “S Corporations: Tax Practice and Analysis” (Commerce Clearing House) (6th Edition 2013) and co-author with Robert Jamison, the CCH on line publication “Expert Treatise Library S Corporations Taxation (2012).” He has authored several tax columns in national publications including Variety and The Practical Accountant. His latest appeared in Agent and Manager. He was contributing editor to Mergers & Acquisitions, 1973-1980. He is also the author of over sixty-five tax articles that have appeared in national publications such as the Journal of Taxation, Estate Planning, Practical Accountant, Business Entities, Taxation for Lawyers, Taxes - the Tax Magazine, Practical Tax Strategies and the Journal of Tax Practice & Procedure as well as served on the Board of Contributors of Practice Update. Mr. Schlesinger is a frequent guest contributor together with other noted tax practitioners in CCH’s analyses of major tax legislation, the latest being “ Sunset of the 2001 & 2003 Tax Relief Acts: Law, Explanation & Analysis” (2012). He has been a lecturer to various organizations including, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Practicing Law Institute, the National Tax Institute, the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the National Conference of Certified Public Accountant Practitioners, the American Institute of Banking, the New York County Lawyers Association, the Federal Tax Forum, the New York and New Jersey State Societies of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Association of Public Accountants and the National Society of Public Accountants. As a tax lawyer, Mr. Schlesinger has been quoted in Smart Money and Fortune Small Business; he is also frequently quoted in the New York Times and Federal Tax Weekly.
