Michael J. Quirk is a partner of Berezofsky Law Group, LLC in Philadelphia, where he practices in the areas of consumer rights, products liability, toxic tort, class action and complex litigation.  He previously was a partner of Williams Cuker Berezofsky, LLC, also in Philadelphia.  Prior to that, he was a Staff Attorney and Equal Justice Works Fellow with Public Justice, P.C. and was Supreme Court Assistance Project Fellow with the Public Citizen Litigation Group, both in Washington, D.C.

Mike has argued and briefed successful appeals on behalf of consumers and other plaintiffs in numerous federal circuit courts and state supreme courts.  He has been class counsel in consumer and employment class and collective actions that have resulted in payment of tens of millions of dollars to aggrieved class members and provision of permanent injunctive relief prohibiting unlawful practices.

Mike is on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA), a nation-wide non-profit association of over 1,500 private and public sector and legal services lawyers, law professors, and law students, whose primary focus is the protection and representation of consumers.  He also serves or has served on NACA’s Issues Committee, Spokeo Amicus Committee, and Class Action Rules Working Group.

Mike is co-author of NACA’s Standards and Guidelines for Litigating and Settling Consumer Class Actions, 299 F.R.D. 160 (3d ed. 2014).  He also is co-author of Consumer Class Actions (9th ed. 2016) and Consumer Arbitration Agreements:  Enforceability and Other Topics (1st-7th ed’s. 2001-2015), both part of the National Consumer Law Center’s Consumer Credit and Sales Legal Practice Series.  He has written numerous articles for legal journals and publications and has been a speaker at conferences of national and state trial lawyer associations and other public interest groups.

Mike is a graduate of The College of New Jersey, B.A. (1992); Rutgers University, M.A. American History (1996); and the University of Michigan Law School, cum laude (1999).
