Michael Gaw is an Assistant Director in the SEC's Division of Trading and Markets. Mr. Gaw supervises the group that handles registration of alternative trading systems, and works on various other secondary market trading issues, including trading increments, post-trade transparency, and Section 31 transaction fees. Mr. Gaw is also the head of the rulemaking team for proposed Regulation SBSR, which addresses the reporting and public dissemination of security-based swap transactions. Mr. Gaw began his career at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in 1995, before moving to the SEC in 2000. Mr. Gaw is a graduate of Harvard College, the University of Cambridge, and Boston College Law School.
