Michael G. Nesta

Michael has extensive experience providing assurance services, technical accounting advice, and financial reporting support under US GAAP and IFRS to audit and non-audit clients. Michael began his career at the Financial Accounting Standards Board as a postgraduate technical assistant and then provided assurance services prior to joining KPMG’s Accounting Advisory Services group. Michael is a national instructor for KPMG in the areas of Revenue Recognition, Leasing, and Business Combinations and participates in Revenue Recognition, Share-Based Payments, Consolidations, Leasing and Business Combinations topic team meetings with KPMG’s national office.

Michael currently leads multiple ASC 606 revenue recognition assessment and implementation projects across a variety of industries, including telecommunications, transaction processing, energy, and industrial manufacturing. His work includes assisting clients assess and understand the complex technical accounting and financial reporting implications of the accounting changes, and working with subject matter specialists to understand the ramifications of those changes on the Company’s business, processes, systems, and people and to design to solutions to address those challenges.
