Michael Rogers is a Managing Director and Senior Counsel of BNP Paribas. Mr. Rogers currently focuses on regulatory issues including Dodd Frank and EMIR and is in charge of the legal and regulatory affairs of Prime Brokerage, including related equities and derivative businesses, and is in charge of the US legal and regulatory affairs of the custody, clearing, hedge fund administration and fund of funds administration businesses. Mr. Rogers represents BNP Paribas in working with regulatory and governmental authorities as well as trade organizations such as SIFMA where he currently serves as Chairman of the SIFMA Prime Brokerage Committee. Before joining BNP Paribas with the purchase of the Prime Brokerage business, Mr. Rogers served as the Head of Prime Brokerage Legal at Bank of America for 5 years from 2003 to 2008. Before working at Bank of America, Mr. Rogers spent almost 10 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co. From 1997 to 2003, Mr. Rogers was a Vice President--Associate General Counsel working with Global Securities Services at Goldman Sachs.  At that time he was also designated as the legal advisor to the Equity Division for anti-money laundering. From 1994 to 1997, he was a Vice President--Assistant General Counsel working with the Fixed Income Division at Goldman Sachs covering a wide variety of trading desks and businesses. Before 1994, Mr. Rogers was at the law firms of Debevoise & Plimpton and Kelley Drye & Warren working on financings, mergers and acquisitions and litigation. Mr. Rogers received his law degree from Cornell Law School and received his B.A. from Columbia College at Columbia University.
