Michael A. Weinberg, a member of the Illinois bar, is a partner in the Chicago law firm of Novack and Macey LLP.  His practice (and the practice of the entire firm) is national in scope, and focuses on commercial litigation at the trial and appellate levels before state and federal courts (and through alternative dispute resolution). Mr. Weinberg is a member of Novack and Macey’s Closely Held Companies, Real Estate, and Energy Practice Groups, but his practice encompasses the entire range of business-related disputes.  A graduate of Vassar College, Mr. Weinberg received his J.D. degree in 1976 from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as Note Editor for the Michigan Law Review.  Recent publications authored or co-authored by Mr. Weinberg include “Contract Performance” in Contract Law (2016), , and “Fiduciary Duties of Shareholders in Closely Held Corporations and Members of Limited Liability Companies” in the Handbook on Disputes Involving Closely Held Companies (2015), both published by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education.  Mr. Weinberg has been frequently interviewed and asked to comment on a variety of legal issues by the magazine SmartBusiness Chicago, and has previously served as a faculty member for the Practising Law Institute’s Commercial Real Estate Institute on the topic of real estate litigation.  Among other honors, Mr. Weinberg has been recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer, and as a top lawyer in the field of commercial litigation by the Illinois Leading Lawyers Network.
