MBB Balado Bevilacqua Abogados was founded by Mercedes Balado Bevilacqua, who graduated with honors from Universidad de Buenos Aires and holds a Master´s Degree in Law (LL.M) from University of Connecticut, School of Law, U.S.A. 

She has over 17 years´ experience in business consulting focused on employment, social security, corporate management and human resources, both nationally and internationally.

In addition to her specialization in Labor Law, Mercedes has been part of the team of lawyers of the National Treasury Prosecutor's Office, representing Argentina against foreign investors’ claims before the International Centre of Settlements for Investment Disputes (ICSID), an agency of the World Bank. Therefore, Mercedes also has experience in matters of both local and international arbitration, which contributes to the provision of complete legal advice and to the understanding of foreign clients’ needs.

Mercedes has been featured among the leading lawyers in her practice area by Legal 500 Latin America for 2013 and 2014, Chambers & Partners for the years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 and Who’s Who Legal 2015.

The formation of the firm was recognized by Latin Lawyer magazine as a notable development in the Argentine legal market (Article: “2013: A year in review” by Rosie Creswell and Lulu Rumsey in Latin Lawyer Vol.12, Issue No.10, of January 9, 2014).

Member of the Committee on Employment and Discrimination and Newsletter Editor of the Labor and Employment Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA), member of the Human Resources Committee of Argentine-French Chamber of Commerce, Mariannes Association, an organization created by the French Embassy that gathers the most relevant business women in Argentina and coordinator of the Research and Study Commission for the Master in Employment Law of Universidad Austral. She is also a referee in the International Commercial Arbitration Competition of the University of Buenos Aires.

Regularly, Mercedes contributes with articles to various academic publications and conferences for local and international organizations, including the International Bar Association, Practising Law Institute (PLI), New York State Bar Association, Global Employment Bulletin, Berwin, Leighton Paisner LLP, CM Murray LLP Newsletter, Squire Patton Boggs LLP, Pensions and Retirement Plans 2013 and 2014-Getting the Deal Through, Latin Lawyer, the magazine Comments Express of AMCHAM, monthly magazine of Case Law and Legislation Editorial “La Ley”, “El Cronista Comercial”, Abogados.com.ar, IJ International Legal Group. She has been quoted by Victor Hugo Alvarez Chavez in his handbook on "Mobbing, stress and harassment in the workplace."
