Ms. Mazzitelli is an Associate Attorney with Mental Hygiene Legal Service for the Second Judicial Department.  Her practice includes advocacy and litigation on behalf of individuals who are alleged to suffer from a mental illness or who are alleged to be incapacitated.  During her tenure with Mental Hygiene Legal Service, Ms. Mazzitelli has represented clients in hundreds of proceedings in matters relating to adult guardianship, psychiatric inpatient civil rights and assisted outpatient treatment (Kendra's Law) in New York State Supreme Court. 

Currently, Ms. Mazzitelli's practice mostly consists of cases brought pursuant to Article 10 of the Mental Hygiene Law, also known as the Sex Offender Management and Treatment Act.  Her representation of Article 10 respondents includes probable cause hearings, motion practice and jury trials.

Prior to joining Mental Hygiene Legal Service, Ms. Mazzitelli worked with low-wage victims of employment discrimination as well as with homeless populations in both New York City and San Francisco.  Throughout her career, she has remained dedicated to serving underrepresented populations.

In her spare time, Ms. Mazzitelli co-chairs the Programming and Events Subcommittee for the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA)'s Committee on Women in the Law and previously served as a program chair for the annual NYSBA Women on the Move program.  Ms. Mazzitelli is also a founding member of the Filipino American Lawyers Association of New York (FALA/NY) and serves on the administrative committee for the National Filipino American Lawyers Association (NFALA).  She is also a member of the Small Claims Arbitration Association and the Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY).
