Matt is head of Investment Banking Client Coverage in the Americas and is a member of the Investment Banking Division’s Global Executive Committee. Previously, Matt served as head of the division’s Global Power and Infrastructure Group from 2013 to 2014. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2001 as an associate and became vice president in 2004. Matt was named managing director in 2008 and partner in 2010.

Prior to joining the firm, he was a US naval officer for five years, serving in a variety of capacities on two different US Navy ships. During this time, his service centered on operations in the Western Pacific, Persian Gulf, Mediterranean Sea and Adriatic Sea.

Matt serves on the Board of Directors of After School Matters, Board of Trustees of The Art Institute of Chicago, Board of Trustees of the Museum of Science and

Industry Chicago, Global Advisory Board for the Kellogg School of Management at

Northwestern University and the Board of Directors of World Business Chicago. He is a

also a member of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago, and a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.

Matt earned a BS in Political Science from the United States Naval Academy in 1994 and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2001.
