Martin Frederic Evans 
 
Martin Frederic Evans is Presiding Partner of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and a member of the Litigation Department. His practice focuses on the litigation, negotiation and resolution of conflicts involving complex financial and economic issues, frequently in a regulatory environment. Mr. Evans has litigated and advised extensively in the insurance and antitrust and trade practice areas.  He has negotiated, litigated and advised on insurance regulatory issues, securities laws issues, international trade issues and communications issues.

Mr. Evans joined Debevoise in 1972 and became a partner in 1981. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1969 and his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1972. Mr. Evans is a member of the New York and Washington, D.C. bars and is admitted to appear before the United States Supreme Court, Second Circuit, Ninth Circuit, D.C. Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
