Marshall Feiring is counsel in the New York office of Sidley Austin LLP. His practice focuses on real estate mortgage investment conduits, regulated investment companies, and real estate investment trusts. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Feiring was a Senior Technician Reviewer in the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. While with the IRS, he authored or reviewed private letter rulings and revenue rulings addressing a broad range of issues concerning mortgage pass-through trusts, REITs, REMICs, partnerships, estates and financial products. He also authored and reviewed securitizationfocused income tax regulations, including the taxable mortgage pool regulations and regulations concerning REMIC residual interests.
