Mark Faber is currently Vice President, Senior Regulatory Counsel, Privacy for The Prudential Insurance Company of America.  Mark has served as a privacy attorney for Prudential since 2009, providing advice on domestic privacy and international privacy law issues.  Mark advises Prudential’s multi-national business units on various international privacy law issues with particular emphasis on cross border data transfers.  He provides advice regarding privacy laws such as GLBA, state insurance privacy laws, FCRA, and HIPAA.  He also provides advice on privacy law issues regarding online activities and new technologies; collection and sharing of information across business units and to third parties; reviewing new and amended privacy laws; privacy language in vendor contracts; and security breaches.  Mark is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the American Council of Life Insurers Privacy Committee, the Privacy and Information Security Committee of the ABA, and the ACC IT, Privacy, and eCommerce Committee.  Mark has been with Prudential since 1997.  From 1997 to 2008, Mark was an attorney in Prudential’s Employment & Labor Section where his responsibilities included international employment law issues.  Prior to working for Prudential, Mark spent 10 years as employment counsel for GTE. Mark is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations and St. John’s University School of Law.
