Mark E. Burns is currently a Group Manager with responsibilities for global Compliance & Ethics, Enterprise Risk and Crisis Management for United Parcel Service.

Since joining the company in 1977 as a part-time package handler in North Florida, Burns has held key positions during his tenure at UPS, including UPS District Controller in the East Tennessee and Metro Philadelphia districts, as well as a Controller Coordinator in the South Central Region. He has also assisted with the re-engineering of several processes, to include COD, Automotive Information System, Billing Incentive Programs, and Research and Development initiatives.  Burns joined the Corporate Finance and Accounting Staff in 1999. 

During his tenure in the Corporate Office, Burns served as Controller for UPS Procurement Services and as a Group Manager in the Corporate Strategy Group.  He accepted his current assignment in February of 2007.

Burns obtained his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of North Florida.  He is a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Institute of Internal Auditors and the Center for Ethics and Corporate Responsibility.
