Marisa Drew is currently a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division of Credit Suisse, based in London and is Co-Head of the Global Markets Solutions Group (GMSG) and Co-Head of the Leveraged Finance Origination and Restructuring Group (LFO&R). GMSG houses all of the firm's financing products, including Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Equity and Debt Derivatives, Ratings Advisory, Structured Products and DA&R. The LFO&R group raises capital and provides debt advisory and liability management solutions for EMEA based corporations and financial entrepreneurs, including acquisition financings, providing growth capital and for balance sheet restructurings.   

Ms Drew joined Credit Suisse in 2003 to start up the firm's Leveraged Finance Origination Group in order to complement the already successful European Financial Sponsors coverage effort. Since that time, her group grew more than fivefold in size and had the leading market share in Europe. Credit Suisse's European Leveraged Finance business was the recipient of numerous accolades including 'Leveraged Finance House of the Year' from Euromoney in 2007. 

Ms Drew is a member of the GMSG Global Operating Committee, she heads up the Steering Committee for the firm's women's initiative to attract, retain and promote  women. She is the senior banker in charge of both US MBA and Wharton recruiting and she remains active in the Competitors' Diversity Forum (CDF), which she founded. The CDF is an organization comprised of nine member investment banking firms with a stated goal to attract and develop women in investment banking careers. Ms Drew is also a member of the C200 and Forum UK, both organisations made up of the top women in business who's aim is to promote other women in business.  In June 2008, Ms Drew was the recipient of the Women in Banking and Finance (WIBF) annual award for achievement. In 2007, 2008 and 2009, Ms. Drew was recognised by Financial News in it's annual 'FN 100 Women in Finance' publication as one of the most influential women in European Finance. She was recognized with the annual award for Achievement in Finance from Women in Banking and Finance in 2008 and the Wharton Distinguished Alumni Award in October 2009.

Ms Drew has been in the investment banking business for over 20 years.  Prior to joining Credit Suisse First Boston, Ms. Drew was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch, responsible for the origination and execution of Leveraged Finance transactions and restructurings for corporate and financial sponsors. She was with Merrill Lynch in Leveraged Finance for 11 years, originally based in New York. In late 1997, Ms. Drew began to concentrate on European clients and was instrumental in the formation of Merrill Lynch's European Leveraged Finance Business, moving to London in late 1999 to continue to build the business.

 

Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Ms. Drew worked with a private equity firm, the Trump Group, and the investment banking firm Kidder Peabody. She received a BA in Finance and Marketing with distinction from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and an MBA with distinction from the Wharton School.

In her spare time, Ms Drew sits on the advisory boards of NESsT a social enterprise organisation focused on Central and Eastern Europe that provides funding and advisory services for promising business plans, often from underprivileged women. Ms Drew is also a member of the European High Yield Association, the Guild of International Bankers and Pi Capital, a private investing club.

In terms of personal interests, Ms Drew is a keen sailor, golfer and self described "foodie" and oenophile. She has recently ventured into the wine making business in South Africa by purchasing a small wine farm and is happily producing about 3,000 bottles of cabernet wines annually. She is a patron of the English National Opera and belongs to Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club and the Eden Golf Club at St. Andrews as well as the New York Yacht Club and the Sachems Head Yacht Club in Guilford, Connecticut.
