Marian Fowler is a Senior Special Counsel for David Grim, the Director of the Division of Investment Management at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.  The Division of Investment Management supports the Commission’s mission of protecting investors; maintaining fair, orderly, and efficient markets; and facilitating capital formation through oversight of the nation's multi-trillion dollar asset management industry.

Ms. Fowler joined the SEC staff in 2012 as a counsel in the Investment Company Rulemaking Office.

Before joining the SEC staff, Ms. Fowler was an associate at Ropes & Gray’s Washington, D.C. office.  Ms. Fowler received her B.A. from the University of Oregon, a Master of Public Policy (M.P.P) from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
