Margaret McGuire is Senior Counsel to the Director of Enforcement, and Chief of the Financial Reporting and Audit Group.  Ms. McGuire leads the Division’s efforts to identify potential violations of the federal securities laws involving misconduct related to the preparation of financial statements, issuer reporting and disclosure, and audit failures. 

Prior to joining the Office of the Director, Ms. McGuire investigated, and supervised investigations of, numerous cases involving financial fraud, issuer reporting and disclosure, insider trading, touting, offering fraud, FCPA violations, and Reg FD violations.

Ms. McGuire earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accounting from the Catholic University of America where she served as an adjunct professor in accounting for over a decade.  She earned her law degree from the Columbus School of Law where she taught Securities Law - Issuance, and coached the National Securities Law Moot Court Team.
