Margaret McGuire is Chief of the Financial Reporting and Audit Group and Senior Counsel to the Co-Directors of Enforcement. Ms. McGuire leads the Division’s proactive efforts to identify potential violations of the federal securities laws involving misconduct related to the preparation of financial statements, issuer reporting and disclosure, and audit failures.

Prior to joining the Office of the Director, Ms. McGuire investigated, and supervised investigations of, numerous cases involving financial reporting, issuer disclosure, audit failures, insider trading, touting, offering fraud, FCPA violations, and Reg FD violations.

Ms. McGuire earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accounting from the Catholic University of America where she served as an adjunct professor in financial accounting for over a decade. She earned her law degree from the Columbus School of Law where she served as an adjunct professor and coach of the securities law national moot court team for over a dozen years.
