Marc D. Ganz, J.D., LL.M. leads EY’s Inbound Tax Leader for the Americas.and is the Northeast Region ITS Retail and Consumer Products leader. He was also a member of Ernst & Young’s U.S. Tax Desk in London from 1999 – 2002. He was also the firm’s Global Telecom Tax Sector Leader from 2005-2010.

Marc specializes in advising clients with respect to  international tax structuring of U.S. inbound and outbound transactions, multi-country joint ventures, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, “out from under” planning and other areas of the U.S. international tax regime including IP planning and the tax issues surrounding the valuation of such IP for purposes of supply chain planning, as well as the U.S. anti-deferral regime, tax treaties,US  the foreign tax credit, and on-shore and off-shore regimes. Marc is responsible for advising clients not only on tax matters as they relate to the U.S. tax system but also on issues unique to the interrelationship of multiple tax systems throughout the world. 

From an industry perspective, Marc’s expertise spans a number of industries. However, he specializes in advising clients in the retail and consumer products space. He is also a recognized global leader in the telecommunications sector.
With over 20 years of tax experience, Marc is a frequest speaker and published author. Marc has authored a number of articles for tax and business publications and has completed the main U.S. tax treaties on telecommunications for Bloomberg BNA Tax Management Portfolios, 6760 T.M., U.S. International Taxation of Telecoms

Additionally He is a member of the Bar of the State of New York.  He obtained his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University and his Juris Doctorate and Advanced Certificate in International Affairs from Washington University. He has a BA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Prior to joining Ernst & Young, Marc worked as an associate in a New York law firm and served as a law clerk to the Honorable William M. Fay, a Senior Judge on the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C.
