Summary Background:
Ms. Tan is a Partner in Kaye Scholer’s GreenTech and Energy Group.

She has extensive experience advising equity investors, lenders, project developers and alternative investment funds on project development and finance, emissions finance and trading, capital markets debt offerings, tax-advantaged financings and structured finance transactions.

Ms. Tan recent focus is on the development and financing of alternative energy projects (such as wind farms, solar power plants, biofuel facilities, coal gasification facilities) and derivatives and structured products relating to EU Emissions Allowances as well as certified emission reductions (“CERs”) under the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development Mechanism (“CDM”) regime.  She was lead counsel to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the establishment of their first Multilateral Carbon Credit Fund and has extensive experience in the purchase and sale of emissions credits and allowances on a primary and secondary basis.

In February 2008, Ms. Tan was named one of the “Top 10 Rising Stars” in Securitization by the publishers of Total Securization/Euromoney Institutional Investor News, for her work in structured finance involving renewable energy and carbon.
