Liz Arky is Accenture's Managing Director of Global Government Relations. Liz joined Accenture in 1999 and was promoted to Partner in 2001. Prior to joining Accenture, Liz served in the Executive Office of the President, Office of the United States Trade Representative, during the Clinton Administration from 1995 to 1999. She served USTR Ambassadors Mickey Kantor and Charlene Barshefsky. As the Assistant USTR for Congressional Affairs, she directed both the planning and management of congressional strategies and activities related to US international trade policy. She played a key role in coordination of the Administration's policy and Congressional votes regarding trade relations with China, Vietnam, the World Trade Organization, NAFTA implementation, services and telecommunications issues.

Prior to working at USTR, Liz served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Plans and Policy with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, serving Secretary Henry Cisneros from 1993 to 1995. She developed legislative, regulatory and outreach strategies to further the agency's policy and appropriations agenda, particularly regarding public housing, housing finance and Reinventing HUD. Liz also served on the Clinton-Gore Transition team in 1992.

Liz was an associate attorney at the law firm of Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts (now Pillsbury Winthrop) in both their Washington, DC and New York City offices from 1986 to 1992. She specialized in legislative and regulatory matters, as well as corporate, banking and securities law. She also represented the Navajo Nation and Navajo Uranium miners.

She received a Juris Doctor degree with honors from George Washington University in 1986, during which time Liz gained experience on Capitol Hill by serving the U.S. House of Representatives Telecommunications and Finance Subcommittee. Liz received a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude with Departmental Honors, in 1983 from Newcomb College of Tulane University.

Liz serves on Accenture's North America Leadership Team as well as its DC City Council. She serves on the Board of the Information Technology Industry Council. Liz is the co-founder and a Board Member of First Book, a national nonprofit that has distributed over 100 million new books to disadvantaged children in community literacy programs in over 300 communities.
