Louis F. Wagner has 13 years of experience both in the oil/polymer industry and in the intellectual property field, both as in-house and outside patent counsel, and specializes in the fields of chemistry and polymer science. He also specializes in intellectual property-related internet issues, including conflicting rights between traditional brick-and-mortar intellectual property rights and those of internet start-ups.

Lou has served as an adjunct professor in Intellectual Property at Kent State University (2002-2005) as well as in Electronic Business & Legal Issues at the University of Akron (2002-2005). He serves as coordinator of the firm's volunteer service with Akron's Community Legal Aid, which recognized Hahn Loeser as its "Law Firm of the Year" in 2009.

Lou is listed in the 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the category of Intellectual Property Law, and in the 2004-07 editions of Ohio Super Lawyers. He is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest available rating for legal ability and professional ethics.
He is admitted to practice in Ohio, the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
