Loren Higgins is a partner in the Corporate Department of Winston & Strawn LLP’s San Francisco office. Her practice focuses on commercial real estate, commercial lending and corporate governance. In particular, Ms. Higgins represents lending institutions, private equity funds, developers and other national, regional and local real estate owners in connection with a broad range of financing matters (including real estate, timber and agricultural lending) and commercial real estate matters (including dispositions, acquisitions and leasing). She has particular expertise in the acquisition, disposition and financing of power generation projects, and in the financing of assisted living, skilled nursing and medical office facilities and other healthcare assets. Ms. Higgins has also represented lenders in connection with the construction of professional sports stadiums (Levi’s Stadium and Golden 1 Center).

Representative clients include: American AgCredit; General Electric Capital Corporation; UBS; Goldman Sachs; Macquarie; Medley Capital; KeyBank; Wells Fargo; and a variety of private equity funds, renewable developers and real estate funds.

Ms. Higgins received a B.A., summa cum laude, in 1995 from Washington and Lee University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the winner of the Robinson Award for the highest grade point average in the liberal arts. She received a J.D., cum laude, from the Harvard Law School in 2000. 

Activities

Ms. Higgins currently serves as a member of the Commercial Transactions Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California.
