Leslie Bigler Lindgren

Public Law Center
Senior Lead Attorney
Santa Ana, CA, USA

Leslie Lindgren is the Public Law Center's Senior Lead Attorney, responsible for PLC's AIDS Legal Assistance Project and its Medical-Legal Partnerships.  Through these two distinct components, Leslie supervises and provides a range of legal services designed to positively impact for low-income clients what the Center for Disease Control has termed the "upstream determinants of health."  By addressing legal issues which affect or arise out of health issues, Leslie seeks to positively impact the health of PLC's clients.

Part of Leslie's work focuses on the AIDS Legal Assistance Project ("ALAP").  Since 1993, PLC has served those living with HIV/AIDS in a variety of legal areas, including disability rights, healthcare law, wills and probate.  Through that work, Leslie serves as a member of the County of Orange HIV Planning Council.  This Project has since inception carried with it the responsibility for the full range of end-of-life planning issues, including wills, advance directives, powers of attorney, conservatorships and probate proceedings.

Similarly, in PLC's Family Advocates Medical-Legal Partnership with Orange County hospitals, community clinics and cancer centers ("Family Advocates"), Leslie provides direct services, supervises staff and supervises pro bono placement for cases arising out of 9 sites, including those involving end-of-life planning issues.

Prior to joining PLC in 2008, Leslie maintained her own practice for more than 15 years, advising clients such as Bank of America, physician consortiums and individual clients in transactional and litigation matters, including products liability, personal injury, breach of contract and workers' compensation.  Prior to that, she worked as Senior Counsel for Bank of America, NT&SA in their Litigation and World Banking Groups, and as a litigator for McCutchen Black Verleger & Shea.

Leslie is a graduate of Pomona College (B.A. cum laude in linguistics, 1976) and of UCLA School of Law (J.D. 1980).
