Larry Platt is one of two Practice Area Leaders of the Financial Services Practice of K&L Gates and sits on the firm's Management Committee. K&L Gates maintains one of the most prominent financial services practices in the United States-with more than 150 U.S.-based lawyers representing diversified financial services institutions and their affiliated service providers. In 2010, Chambers USA, an independent and research-based guide to the legal profession, ranked K&L Gates in the top tier (the highest ranking) in the area of "Financial Services Regulation: Consumer Finance (Compliance)." The report described K&L Gates as a "go-to firm for the most high-profile, complex and important cases in the consumer area."  In addition, in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, Chambers USA ranked Mr. Platt as one of the nation's leading Consumer Financial Services Regulation Lawyers.  Mr. Platt concentrates his legal practice in representing purchasers and sellers of mortgage companies and mortgage-related assets, counseling clients on federal and state consumer credit laws, defending clients in government enforcement actions, and representing clients in governmental public policy matters. Mr. Platt was named one of Washington's ten most influential people on lending issues in September 2002 by Lending Intelligence Magazine. He was on the Board of Directors for Montgomery Housing Partnership, Inc., a nonprofit, tax-exempt owner and developer of affordable housing in Montgomery County, MD. He was the pro bono General Counsel for The Unitarian Universalists Affordable Housing Corporation, and Mr. Platt was a Board member and Counsel to the St. Andrew's Episcopal School.
