Larry A. Bennett is patent attorney at Intel Corporation. He is a member of the California Bar, admitted December 2004; a member of the Washington Bar, admitted May 2010; and a member of the U.S. Patent Bar, and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Bennett joined Intel in 2002 and in September 2004 he assumed a Patent Analysis Attorney position in the Patents and Licensing Group. Mr. Bennett’s legal practice consists primarily of the reviews of patents for possible licensing or purchase, litigation support, and patent cross-licenses. His pro bono volunteerism dates back to pro bono projects during his law school experience, for which he won awards, and volunteering as a member of the initial pro bono committee for Intel’s Legal and Corporate Affairs Department. Mr. Bennett assumed the role of co-chair of the pro bono program with Paul D. Schelin in 2009 and continues in 2010. As part of Intel’s program, Mr. Bennett personally takes on three to four pro bono matters per year, teaming on guardianships, special education advocacy, or attendance at housing clinics. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, from which he graduated in 1980 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, and of Santa Clara University School of Law, from which he received his J.D. degree in 2004. Prior to law school, Mr. Bennett spent twenty years as an engineering consultant to electric power industry clients worldwide, and he is a registered professional engineer in California.
