Lance Jasper is Senior Counsel for enforcement in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Los Angeles Regional Office.  Mr. Jasper began working for the SEC in 2013 and became Senior Counsel in 2014.  In his role as Senior Counsel, Mr. Jasper investigates potential violations of the federal securities laws and works with federal, state, and non-U.S. authorities, including the U.S. Secret Service, IRS, and FBI/DOJ.  Mr. Jasper’s investigations have included matters concerning Ponzi schemes, FCPA/bribery violations, insider trading, investment-adviser fraud, offering fraud, fraudulent financial statements, unregistered broker-dealers, and unregistered securities offerings.  His publicly disclosed investigations have resulted in disgorgement and penalties of over $90 million, among other remedies.  Prior to joining the SEC, Mr. Jasper worked as a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, as a law clerk for the Honorable Pamela Ann Rymer, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and as a law clerk for the Honorable Naomi Reice Buchwald, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.  Mr. Jasper earned his law degree from Columbia University and has a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University.
