Kristofer K. Swanson, CPA, CFF, CFE, CAMS

Mr. Swanson is a Managing Director in the Dispute Resolution, Forensic Accounting & Regulatory Compliance practice, and is a member of the firm's Senior Leadership Team.  In 2009, he was an inaugural inductee into Navigant's Client Service Hall of Fame.

Mr. Swanson leads many of Navigant's highest-profile investigative engagements, responding to a broad range of allegations including financial statement fraud, embezzlement, Ponzi schemes, healthcare overbilling, money laundering and data breaches. He has been retained to provide forensic accounting assistance to Court-appointed receivers for failed financial institutions.  In the healthcare industry, he serves as the engagement leader for Independent Review Organization ("IRO") assignments, as required under the terms of Corporate Integrity Agreements.

Mr. Swanson has testified in numerous complex commercial and intellectual property disputes. 

He has guest lectured at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and at various Chicago law schools, and is a frequent speaker and author on forensic matters. 

Mr. Swanson serves on the boards of the Better Government Association (Chair, Nominations Committee), the Legal Aid Bureau of Metropolitan Family Services (Chair, Membership/Development Committee), and Lawyers for the Creative Arts.

He is a Dean's Honors List MBA graduate of the University of Chicago; an M.S. in Accountancy graduate with Distinction from DePaul University; a B.A. graduate from Lawrence University; a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in Illinois); a Certified Fraud Examiner; a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist; and the former CFO of a futures commission merchant.
