Kevin O’Scannlain, Chevron Senior Counsel, has over 20 years’ experience in the legal and policy fields.  His public and private sector experience includes working for an international law firm, the U.S. Senate, and a Fortune 5 company. 

He joined Chevron in 2012 and covers political law compliance, investigations, and policy work.  In addition to being responsible for a comprehensive political law compliance program, he also conducts internal investigations. 

Before joining Chevron, Mr. O’Scannlain was an attorney for seven years in DLA Piper’s Regulatory & Government Affairs Group, where he provided policy and regulatory compliance counsel for a diverse range of clients in a number of areas, including international trade, intellectual property and technology, healthcare, financial services, and energy.

Previously, he served as senior counsel to U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, where he drafted and negotiated legislation on civil issues such as litigation reform and internet commerce. 

Mr. O’Scannlain has lectured on legal and policy issues in numerous conferences, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Legal Reform, Association of Corporate Counsel, the Financial Markets Association, and the National Conference of State Legislatures; and has written for the Washington Legal Foundation. 

O’Scannlain holds a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame, and B.A. in Political Science from College of the Holy Cross.
