Kevin Lavin is a senior manager in the in the Bay Area Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) group, serving clients in the technology industry. In his current role, Kevin has led engagement teams assisting various clients in accounting and reporting considerations for IPOs and business combinations, including drafting registration statements, compiling pro forma financial information, evaluating accounting policies for conformity, and assessing purchase accounting. Kevin also has led projects supporting companies on a variety of technical accounting topics.

Prior to joining FAAS, Kevin was an audit senior manager serving technology clients in the Bay Area. Kevin’s responsibilities on these engagements included supervising all audit activities, including evaluating the effects of the adoption of ASC 606 for multiple clients, and leading one team through an IPO.

Prior to joining the Bay Area, Kevin spent 5 years in EY’s National Professional Practice group in New York, NY, where his areas of technical emphasis included all aspects of accounting and reporting for business combinations, goodwill and intangible assets, and segment reporting. His responsibilities in those areas included consulting with clients and engagement teams on technical accounting and reporting matters, monitoring activities of accounting standard-setting bodies, drafting firm communication materials related to new and existing accounting pronouncements and leading professional education courses.

His tenure in National Professional Practice also included an 18 month fellowship at the Center for Audit Quality in Washington, DC. His responsibilities during his fellowship included engaging with members of the profession, regulators, investors, audit committee members, and other stakeholders on issues of importance to audit quality.

Prior to joining the Professional Practice group, Kevin worked in the New York office serving assurance clients in the media and entertainment industry since 2004.

He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from The George Washington University.

Kevin is a certified public accountant in California and New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
