Kevin A. O'Brien

Kevin O'Brien is Senior IP Counsel at Goodrich Corporation. In that capacity, Kevin is responsible for all intellectual property matters for domestic business units generating annual sales of $2.5 billion USD, including developing and implementing an IP strategy appropriate for each business unit, counseling business units on IP issues, managing outside counsel and foreign associates in the prosecution and litigation of worldwide IP rights, and addressing IP issues in transactional matters such as licensing and due diligence. Kevin is a frequent speaker on intellectual property issues and is active in numerous regional and national intellectual property organizations, including serving as the President of the Carolina Patent, Copyright and Trademark Law Society and Chair of the Intellectual Property Owners Trade Secret Committee.  Prior to joining Goodrich in 2007, Kevin practiced in the IP-litigation group of Alston & Bird.  Prior to law school, Kevin served in the U.S. Submarine Force and worked as an engineer with Michelin Tire Corporation.  Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with honors, from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of South Carolina.
