Kelly M. Morrison

Jenner & Block LLP

Washington, DC, USA

Kelly M. Morrison concentrates on complex civil litigation, arbitration and appellate matters, with a focus on trade secret litigation and class action defense. She handles matters on behalf of companies in a wide variety of industries ranging from food to technology to energy.

Ms. Morrison has been a key member of the defense team for dozens of consumer and employment class action lawsuits in California, Florida, New York and elsewhere, achieving dismissals at the pleading stage and denials of class certification. In addition to her deep experience disposing of cases in early proceedings, Ms. Morrison has trial and arbitration hearing experience. Most recently, Ms. Morrison was a member of a trial team that secured what is believed to be the largest verdict ($940 million) of any kind in Wisconsin, and is also one of the largest trade secret verdicts in U.S. history. Ms. Morrison has also handled a number of appellate matters in both state and federal courts, and has argued in the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Ms. Morrison has worked on a variety of pro bono matters, including as a member of teams that successfully secured political asylum, convinced the State of Georgia to voluntarily dismiss its case against a man who had been on death row for 28 years, and asserting an ongoing challenge to California’s lethal injection protocol.

Ms. Morrison is a member of the Jenner & Block’s Complex Commercial Litigation, Class Action, Trade Secrets and Consumer Law Practices.  She also serves as a member of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Pro Bono Committee and Women’s Forum Steering Committee.
