Kat Meyers is a staff attorney in the Civil Practice Law Reform Unit in which she represents clients to affect systemic change to housing policy and law.

Prior to her current position, she was a staff attorney in the Tenant Rights Coalition in the Bronx Neighborhood Office in which she represented tenant associations in affirmative litigation.  Throughout her career, she has focused on housing and government benefits issues with respect to housing subsidies. While a member of the Housing Unit, she represented hundreds of tenants in housing court, and in Article 78 proceedings with regard to terminations or denials from Section 8 voucher programs.

As a member of the “FEPS Team” at The Legal Aid Society, Kat has advised service providers across the city on the rent subsidy program, advocated with City and State entities, and assisted in class action litigation to address inequities in the subsidy guidelines.

Kat received her B.A. in Contemporary Race Relations and Human Rights from New York University and her J.D. from City University of New York School of Law.
