Karla is a member of the Capital Markets group within International Tax Services.  She focuses on issues associated with cross-border financing, such as currency gain or loss, debt/equity questions, and cash management techniques.  She also focuses on hedging foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity price risks.  She deals with financial products such as options, forwards, futures, and notional principal contracts, and with the tax accounting rules governing the recognition of interest income and expense on debt instruments, in both the domestic and international contexts.

Karla received a B.A. from Williams College and an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of New York, and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the New York State Society of CPAs.
