Karl Heisler is a Partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP in Washington, DC.  He is the national chair of Katten’s Electronic Discovery and Information Governance practice.  He has served as lead e-Discovery counsel in government investigations for some of the world’s largest companies in a variety of industry sectors, including chemical manufacturing, energy, construction services, and waste management.  He has provided counsel to several Fortune 500 companies responding to grand jury subpoenas, search warrants, civil information requests, and whistleblower allegations.  He routinely directs evidence preservation, collection and production initiatives in response to government investigations involving the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, among other environmental and worker safety regimes.  Karl is a frequent lecturer on the preservation of electronically-stored information, and he provides advice and counsel on corporate records and information management.

In 2013, Karl was listed as a Rising Star in environmental law by Washington, DC Super Lawyers and as one of five national Rising Stars in environmental law by Law360.
