Karen B. Rosenbaum, MD is a board certified general and forensic psychiatrist. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, Behavior Sciences and Psychiatry division. She is a member of the American Psychiatry Association as well as the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.

Dr. Rosenbaum is an adjunct assistant professor at New York University Langone Medical Center where she teaches and supervises Forensic Psychiatry Fellows. She is also on voluntary faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College where she teaches medical students history taking and case write-ups of psychiatric patients.

Dr. Rosenbaum has presented and taught on numerous topics including Anti-Bullying legislation, insanity defense, diminished capacity, addiction, forensic implications of social media, cultural implications in forensic psychiatry, and stalking.

Dr. Rosenbaum is in private practice in New York City. In her clinical practice, she sees adult patients suffering from mood, anxiety, adjustment, and personality disorders. She also treats patients with complicated medical issues impacting on their mental health. She treats patients using both therapy and medication. In her forensic practice, Dr. Rosenbaum works with both civil and criminal attorneys on a wide range of issues including but not limited to competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, sexual harassment cases, fitness for duty, and substance abuse issues.
