Kali N. Bracey

Kali N. Bracey is a partner in Jenner & Block's Washington, DC office.  She is a member of the Firm's Litigation Department and its Insurance Litigation and Counseling, and Reinsurance Practices.

Ms. Bracey works on behalf of policyholders in insurance coverage disputes related to coverage for complex construction and environmental matters, mold, and lead paint.  She has experience with D&O, commercial general liability, and first party property coverage. She has recently represented clients in claims related to Chinese drywall, environmental pollution, and advertising injury.

Ms. Bracey also has extensive litigation experience in a wide variety of matters in state and federal courts throughout the country representing clients in redistricting, copyright, telecommunications, and product liability cases.

Her pro bono work includes the drafting of a brief amicus curiae on behalf of a coalition of advocates for the poor and homeless as well as the representation of a criminal defendant facing murder charges in District of Columbia Superior Court.

Ms. Bracey joined Jenner & Block in February 2002 after four years at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.  Ms. Bracey tried many types of cases from misdemeanors to serious felonies and homicides.  Ms. Bracey also argued an appeal on behalf of a client who had been convicted of armed robbery before the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Ms. Bracey received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Spelman College and J.D. from Yale Law School.  After graduation, Ms. Bracey clerked for the Honorable Stephen Reinhardt on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
