Julie Laurence is Chief Program Officer and a member of the GEMS Executive Leadership Team. Ms. Laurence oversees all program and service delivery and works with GEMS external partners.  She is a social work professional with over 18 years of experience in mental health counseling, program development, and non-profit management and advocating for disenfranchised youth and young adults and social justice.  Having provided clinical support, supervision and program implementation for 10 years at GEMS, Ms Laurence brings a unique understanding of transformational relationships and survivor-leadership vital to the provision of services to commercially sexually exploited and trafficked youth. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Hunter College and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Loyola University and is a graduate of Columbia University Graduate school of Business Senior Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals
