Ms. Allen is an Assistant Branch Chief in the Financial Institutions & Products Division (FIP) of the IRS Office of Chief Counsel (Chief Counsel) in Washington, D.C.  FIP provides legal advice on tax issues involving banks, thrift institutions, insurance companies and products, regulated investment companies, real estate investment trusts, annuities, debt instruments, securitization vehicles, derivatives, tax-exempt bonds, and numerous other types of financial instruments and entities.  She joined Chief Counsel in March 2010.  Prior to joining Chief Counsel, Ms. Allen worked at a large international law firm.  Ms. Allen holds a B.B.A. from The College of William and Mary, a J.D. from Catholic University of America School of Law, and an L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
