Judith D. Grimaldi is a partner in the pioneering, all women elder law firm of Grimaldi & Yeung LLP with offices in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Ms. Grimaldi represents the rights of the elderly and disabled in Personal Planning, with a special focus on family caregivers and homecare. She is a certified Elder Law attorney, certified Social Worker, serves on the boards of non-profit organizations serving the elderly and special needs populations in Brooklyn.

Ms. Grimaldi is a past President of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), New York Chapter; she is a NAELA Board Member, Member of NAELA’s Advocacy Committee and member of NAELA’s Council of Advanced Practitioners (CAP). She is currently the Chair-Elect of the New York State Bar Association’s Elder Law & Special Needs Section and a member of the House of Delegates of the New York State Bar Association. She is a Charter member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and was recently named to the National Board of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Ms. Grimaldi is also a past Chair of the New York City Bar Association’s Legal Problems of the Aging Committee.

Ms. Grimaldi is also active in the Senior Issue Committee of New York City’s Community Board 10, where she is currently working on developing a Bay Ridge Age Friendly Improvement District, and has recently authored a book, “5@55”, The 5 Essential Legal Documents You Need by Age 55”.

Ms. Grimaldi is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School, where she was an adjunct professor. She also holds a Masters in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work and as a Social Worker, developed innovative aging services for Lutheran Medical Center and South Beach Psychiatric Center. Ms. Grimaldi graduated summa cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College, earning a degree in Gerontology and serving as an adjunct professor in Sociology.
