Joe Lower is Vice President of Corporate and Strategic Development for The Boeing Company.  In this role, Joe is responsible for overseeing the M&A activities within the company, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, equity investments and joint ventures, as well as supporting broader strategic initiatives.  Joe joined Boeing in 2002.

The Boeing Corporate Development team consists of over 20 professionals located in Chicago, Seattle, St. Louis and Southern California and is part of the Business Development and Strategy group within the Company.  Over the last 7 years, Boeing has announced over 60 transactions with total value exceeding $12 billion.  Highlights include the acquisition of Aviall, formation of United Launch Alliance with Lockheed Martin, acquisition of Insitu, spin-out of the commercial operations in Wichita, sale of the Commercial Finance Business and divestiture of Rocketdyne.

Joe's career prior to Boeing includes leadership positions in both corporate development and investment banking.  Immediately prior to joining Boeing, Joe was Vice President in charge of Corporate Development and North American Sales and Marketing for APW Ltd., an NYSE listed provider of supply chain solutions to the network infrastructure, telecommunications and semiconductor markets.  Prior to APW, Joe held various positions, including Director and Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions, with Credit Suisse First Boston, an international investment bank.  He also served as Vice President of Corporate Development and Financial Planning for SPS Transaction Services, an NYSE listed outsourcer of private label credit card programs, electronic credit card processing and call center solutions.  Joe began his professional career in the investment banking department of Dean Witter Reynolds.

Joe is Vice Chairman and an Executive Committee member on the Board of Trustees for the Adler Planetarium, a visiting committee member for the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago, member of the Economic Club of Chicago and AYSO soccer coach.

Joe received his MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and his bachelor's degree in finance from the Indiana University School of Business.
