Joseph DiLeo is a Director in the Accounting Services Department in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s National Office. His responsibilities include addressing technical accounting inquiries, formulating policies and interpretive guidance on accounting standards, and communicating with accounting standard setters, Deloitte professionals, clients and other parties interested in financial reporting. His areas of specialization include revenue recognition and leases.  Mr. DiLeo also has significant experience in insurance accounting and SEC reporting matters.

Prior to joining the Accounting Services Department, Mr. DiLeo spent two years in the SEC Services group in National Office. His responsibilities included consulting with clients and engagement teams regarding, among other items, financial statement requirements and other SEC reporting matters related to complex transactions, registration statements, periodic filings, and SEC comment letters with a focus on large insurance registrants. Prior to joining the SEC Services group, Joe spent one year in Deloitte’s Internal Inspections group in National Office.

Before arriving to National Office, Mr. DiLeo spent four years in Deloitte’s St. Louis office where he served a large aerospace company. Joe arrived to St. Louis after completing a two year global assignment in Milan, Italy where he assisted many of Deloitte’s multinational clients.

Mr. DiLeo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, N.Y. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the states of Connecticut, Missouri, and New York.
