John Temple is an assistant district attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office.  John graduated from the University of Rochester in 1998 and from Brooklyn Law School in 2003.  He joined the office in 2003 and was assigned to the Trial Division.  Since that time, John has worked as a member of the Office’s Domestic Violence Unit, Sex Crimes Unit, and the Homicide Chart.  He has successfully prosecuted crimes involving organized crime, rape, trafficking, domestic violence, and homicide.

John currently serves as the first ever Attorney-in-Charge of the Office’s Human Trafficking Program where he supervises all sex and labor trafficking investigations and prosecutions.  Since the formation of the Program, John has implemented procedures and policies to better identify victims of human trafficking, provide greater support for victims and their families, and utilize data-based investigations to prosecute traffickers.

John also serves on several trafficking related organizations and committees and has appeared as a lecturer and panelist on the topic of Human Trafficking for foreign delegations, universities, members of law enforcement, the legal community, non-governmental organizations, and child protective services.

John is an adjunct professor of Constitutional Law at Fordham University.
