John Jenkins is the Vice President, Corporate Secretary and International General Counsel of Tyco International Ltd. John Jenkins started Tyco in February 2003. As Corporate Secretary, he is responsible for corporate securities, public finance, corporate governance and Board of Directors matters. Internationally, John leads a global team of lawyers who provide day to day legal services to the company’s operations in over sixty countries.

Previously, John served as Tyco’s Senior Litigation Counsel where he was responsible for corporate litigation with a focus on securities matters and governmental investigations. Before joining Tyco, John was associated with McGuireWoods, LLP in Tysons Corner, Virginia where he tried commercial cases in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Earlier, John served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Navy where he served as a prosecutor and defense counsel. His last assignment prior to leaving active duty was as the Legislative Counsel to the Secretary of the Navy.

John holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and is a high honors graduate of the George Washington University law school and is a member of the Order of the Coif.
