John Moore is a partner in Slaughter and May’s Hong Kong office, where he represents investment banks, corporations and private equity funds on capital markets, M&A and private equity transactions.

He is US and Hong Kong qualified and has extensive experience acting for underwriters and issuers on high value and complex securities transactions, equity placings and convertible bond issues, including SEC-registered, Rule 144A/Regulation S and Rule 144 offerings. John has also advised on pre-IPO equity acquisitions and subscriptions.

John spent a number of years as a senior in-house counsel at Goldman Sachs. He was also a partner and co-head of the China capital markets practice at a US firm and a partner and head of the US securities and capital markets practice for Asia at a leading international firm.

John served for several years as Deputy Chairman of the Listing Committee of the Main Board and the Growth Enterprise Market of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

John is listed in the elite 'Leading lawyers' section of the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2017's Guide to Outstanding Lawyers in Asia Pacific for Capital markets (equity) and recommended in the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2017 for Capital markets (equity). He is also listed as a leading lawyer in the IFLR 1000 Asia Pacific 2017 for Capital Markets (equity) in Hong Kong and in Chambers Asia-Pacific 2017 for Capital Markets (Hong Kong-based international firms, China).
