Jerome Tomas has extensive experience in representing clients in investigations with respect to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the UK Bribery Act, disclosure, financial statement and auditor issues, insider trading, and commodities manipulation, OFAC-related matters, among others. Prior to joining Baker & McKenzie, Mr. Tomas was a senior attorney in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Division of Enforcement, where he investigated, litigated, and tried alleged violations of the federal securities laws and worked closely with several US Attorneys’ Offices on parallel investigations.

Practice Focus
Mr. Tomas regularly handles enforcement investigations before the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), various United States Attorneys Offices, the SEC and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as well as internal investigations. He also represents companies and their management, boards of directors and audit committees in conducting internal investigations and responding to inquiries from law enforcement and regulatory agencies. In addition to securities and white collar enforcement matters, Mr. Tomas has extensive experience in advising US and non-US companies on anti-corruption law and trade compliance issues in the context of international mergers, acquisitions, other business combinations as well as general corporate transactions.
