Jennifer Weiser Bezoza is the Director of Education Advocacy at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area (LCCR).  She engages in community outreach, policy advocacy, and impact litigation to promote equity in education.  She also manages LCCR’s Education Advocacy Project, which provides direct representation to students in special education and school discipline matters.  Previously, Ms. Bezoza practiced civil rights law at King & Greisen in Denver, Colorado.  Prior to King & Greisen, Ms. Bezoza was the Legal and Policy Director at Children’s Voices in Boulder, Colorado, where she was one of four lead counsel on Lobato v. State, a constitutional challenge to Colorado’s school finance system.  Ms. Bezoza also co-taught and supervised students in the Civil Litigation Clinic at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law.  Prior to moving to Colorado, Ms. Bezoza was a Senior Staff Attorney at Disability Rights Advocates in Berkeley; a staff attorney at the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law; a Skadden Fellow at Education Law Center in Newark, New Jersey; and a judicial law clerk for Judge Shira A. Scheindlin of the Southern District of New York.  Ms. Bezoza is a graduate of Yale College and received her law degree from New York University School of Law.
