Jennifer Daniels leads the privacy and security practice at Blank Rome.  Her practice emphasizes the representation of clients seeking counsel on privacy and security issues in the United States, Europe and around the world.  Ms. Daniels advises clients on the FTC Act, HIPAA, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, GLB, security breach notification laws, and other U.S. state and federal privacy and data security requirements and global data protection laws.  For the past thirteen years, Ms. Daniels has counseled clients, including global fortune 100 companies, in their global privacy and security efforts, working closely with these clients’ internal privacy offices to: audit the companies’ business practices, draft policies and procedures, create and negotiate privacy language in contracts and permission documents, train staff, and respond to government inquiries.  She has extensive experience advising clients in responding to data security breaches, reviewing cybersecurity insurance policies, and with respect to cross-border data transfers. Ms. Daniels represents a wide range of clients, with a particular focus on multinational pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, and health, fitness, and wellness businesses. She regularly counsels clients with respect to the use of data in their clinical research, marketing and advertising functions, human resources, and online modules and social networking activities. 

Ms. Daniels is a frequent speaker on issues related to privacy and security, as well as on topics related to consumer protection matters.  She also authored Applying Basic Privacy Principles to the Use of RFID for the Food and Drug law Institute’s Update Magazine 2005, Issue 4 and contributed to the leath law privacy chapter to Data Security and Privacy Law: Combating Cyberthreats, West Group, 2002.

Ms. Daniels received her bachelor’s degree from Rochester University, where she graduated magna cum laude, and her juris doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
