Jennifer G. Rodgers, Executive Director, Center for the Advancement of Public Integrity at Columbia Law School

The Center for the Advancement of Public Integrity at Columbia Law School (CAPI) is a partnership between the law school and New York City’s Department of Investigation, the city’s anticorruption agency.  CAPI’s mission is three-fold: to assemble an inclusive community of practitioners, scholars, individuals in the non-profit sector, and other interested parties whose goal is corruption-free government at all levels; to encourage collaboration within the CAPI community and to support the community’s work by providing training materials, issuing publications, and hosting conferences and other events; and to create a centralized space for research about and meaningful discussion of important issues related to public integrity through the CAPI website and its events.

Prior to joining CAPI, Jennifer worked at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Jennifer worked on a wide variety of federal criminal matters and conducted numerous jury trials, including in cases involving terrorism, organized crime, public corruption, and narcotics; she also briefed and argued nearly two dozen appeals before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Jennifer has also held numerous supervisory positions within the U.S. Attorney’s Office, including Deputy Chief Appellate Attorney, Chief of the Organized Crime Unit, and Chief of the General Crimes Unit. Prior to becoming a federal prosecutor, Jennifer was a litigation associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, and worked as a law clerk for former federal district court judge Stanley A. Weigel of the Northern District of California. Jennifer received her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall) School of Law, and graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in history from the University of California, Los Angeles.
