Jeffrey S. Klein is Head of Weil’s nationally recognized Employment Litigation Practice Group. He is a first-chair trial lawyer and a trusted advisor to employers and their boards and senior management.

Mr. Klein serves as a go-to counsel for sophisticated global companies such as Andeavor (f/k/a/ Tesoro), Belmond Hotels, Godiva Chocolatier, Goldman Sachs, Mastercard, Signet Jewelers, Tiffany & Co., and Union Pacific. He leads the defense of complex discrimination claims, wage and hour claims, ERISA and employee benefits litigation, and trade secrets and restrictive covenants disputes, including in the class action, trial, arbitration, and mediation contexts. He also counsels boards, special committees, and senior executives with respect to internal investigations and compliance issues.

Mr. Klein also is a highly sought-after sports attorney with experience representing athletes, sports organizations and front-office personnel, as well as major corporations and celebrities. Some of his recent notable clients have included Jim Harbaugh, head coach of the University of Michigan football team, Creative Artists Agency, a powerhouse talent agency, Under Armour, and a number of college football coaches who have been the subject of front-page business coverage over the past six months.

Mr. Klein regularly speaks at high-profile industry conferences, including the annual Workshop on Employment Law for Federal Judges, and has authored a bi-monthly column for more than 20 years for the New York Law Journal. He also serves as pro bono outside counsel to the Public Art Fund and Joe Torre’s Safe at Home Foundation.

On account of his wide-ranging expertise and thought leadership, industry and business publications alike have long recognized Mr. Klein as among the top lawyers in the U.S, including Chambers Global, Chambers USA, Human Resources Executive, Legal 500, and Lawdragon, among others.
